7-week MBSR Group Course

  • Started Jul 4
  • 385 US dollars
  • Virtual

Service Description

This unique virtual synchronous group course is open to those who live with, support, or are affected by chronic illness. In addition to gaining mindfulness skills for everyday life, participants will learn and practice in a community of peers with similar experiences. This evidence-based course was rigorously developed through the University of Massachusetts and Cambridge University, brought to you in a 7-week format. It is led by a licensed psychotherapist and seasoned instructor who is a type-1 diabetic, kidney patient, and double organ transplant recipient. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the industry gold standard for therapeutic mindfulness. Research shows this evidence-based method significantly reduces physical and psychological stress while increasing stress resilience, regulation, and overall wellbeing. Its treatment applications are wide and span a range of issues, most notably: anxiety, depression, pain, insomnia, ADHD, and chronic illness. The class size is limited to 12 people in order to offer intimate, supportive, and immersive instruction. A MBSR course certificate is granted upon completion. A superbill is provided for reimbursement to those wishing to use out-of-network PPO insurance benefits. FSA/HSA payments are accepted. Medicare and in-network benefits do not cover the cost of this course.
